I must say, i am impressed.

Morti recently gained full rights to posting in this forum by obtaining both an Emerald Tree Boa and a Moluccan (sp?) Python. The former is, from what Morti tells me, quite passive (during daylight, anyway), but the python is one active snake, from what i've seen! Well, the other night, Morti once again blew my mind with his ability to handle his kids.

Wanting to get the python tamed as quickly as possible (or at least, that's his claim - i think he just can't keep his hands off the lovely thing), Morti decided to handle him for the first time while i was over visiting. I was the spotter, i suppose. [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif[/img] Of course, he decided to do this while the Moluccan was curled up in his water dish, so he was wet and slippery. He tossed a shirt over the head, reached right in a hauled him out...

Then spent about two minutes doing a Steve Irwin impression, complete with flailing snake and "Not on my face" mantra. [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif[/img] Really, though, i don't think the python had any real interest in tagging Morti, he just wanted to get away. Then, after two minutes, the snake calmed right down and started treating Morti like the mobile tree he really is.

Just thought everyone would like to know - He seems to have the new kids well under control.

Thanks for posting that Storm. I'll admit that this kid gave me the willies for a minute trying to frehandle him, but he and I both calmed down pretty quick.

Morti was already a corallus owner anyway... c. hortulanus counts...don't let anyone tell ya it doesn't! What an ammie lacks in strength and fang size...they more than make up for with attitude.....ok so morti's ammie is a cute lil baby that probably doesn't even bite....I think Ted and Cathy got the only one that bites from that litter.....but still....He has been a corallus owner for months now!
