Hey everyone, I just have a quick question. I got my gtp about a year ago and when i got him/her, he/she was already completely green. Anyway, he/she has always fed well on an appropriate sized meal about once a week. However, he/she is still only about as thick as the widest part of my thumb. Is this normal? How old are gtps usually when they complete the transition from chocolate, red, or yellow to green?

Shib, they can be anywhere between six mnths & two years
when they decide to change colour.
How big/thick was the snake when you first got it??.

When I got him/her, she/he was about the width of my pinkey. So, I guess he/she is growing, just slowly. I don't know why. I would really like him/her to be much larger. Just because then, he/she would be more of a snake to handle. Right now, he/she just curls around my fingers and sits there. Also, his/her features would be much more pronounced if he/she were larger. lol.

From the thickness of your pinky to the thickness of your
thumb in a year sounds right.
Try to resist overfeeding Shibby , it can do them a lot of harm .
Just be patient mate, he'll/ she'll get there .
They don't grow to be huge snakes it'll probably only get to
6 ft. at the most.
But very beautiful!!!

OK...Long as we're asking questions here in this thread I have one also....
WHY would you post a question relative to a PYTHON like the GTP in the FAQ forum for redtail boas ? Why not post it in the Tree Python forum.. or even the Python forum for that matter ?

Lori stepping off rant and moving this topic.. only the like 20th one she has moved today so far...C'MON guys/gals....

Shibby don't take it personally... I just phased out on your post is all...

Sorry Lori. I was away from the site for a while and became unacustomed to all the boards. I forgot that there was a tree python board and didn't notice it because it is fairly far down on the page of boards. I am usually really good about propper thread placement.

ps. Just so you know, I am not trying to act rude or defensive, I just wanted to redeem myself lol.

psps. Thanks for taking your time to clean up the boards on this site. I hate forums that are all scrambled and have things posted in an unorganized manner. This site is great; very clean looking and attractive. Anyway, I am rambling....
