Most of us know how anti-inbreeding I am. My convictions to this were being tested by my running across a sole Pied patternless amazon adult female a year and a half or so ago....OH how bad I wanted to prove or disprove piebald genetics in this species...but with one animal, inbreeding thoughts at least to some degree was eating away at me...but I was determined to find another one and not go that route. How ever long it took...Lucky for me and thanks Ptorgeux (did I spell that right?) for sending me the link to Ben's KS ad...I now have 2 adult female pied amazons. So now my plans are to breed them both to different males and then later breed "het" males from opposite litters back to the pied Females and eventually het to het but it takes a really long time to get baby females to sexual maturity so that's way down the road. Young males are sluts though and eager to please. I'm very excited about this project regardless of the outcome. Hortulanus genetics are an enigma and can be extremely frustrating and exciting at the same time...They seem to have very few rules and seldom follow what few they have with any regularity.

Anyway...here is my anticipation series of what my morning here was like Notice one of our cats was anxious to see what was in the box as well.

	Heterozygous Heterozygous - the animal carries the gene for a genetic trait but does not outwardly demonstrate the trait. Example: A boa that is het for albino looks normal but carries the albino gene. When it is bred to another het for albino boa or an albino boa, a percentage of the offspring will be albino.

them? those? That's all one snake. The other pied, I've had for awhile. She's currently enjoying the company of her boyfriend so she couldn't come out for fresh photos today
