Anybody ever been bit by a adult GTP?
I am interested in getting one. I was just wondering, since they have really long fangs, if anybody has ever got bit by one? The pain of the bite I'm willing to accept, but I was just wondering, due to their fangs, whether any medical treatment is needed if bit?

peroxide and neosporin should do the trick just dont jerk your hand away you could hurt the snake and maybe rip your skin good instead of the small puncture

They have very long teeth for the size of their head. My buddy has one that bites him every chance it gets. (I have no idea how he keeps getting bit) His GTP actually got him good even through a pair of Kevlar Gloves. Most bites just close up after a little bleeding, no big deal. If it came to where you pulled back and it started to tear, i think the teeth would break before any real damage to the skin to where stiches would be needed.

well it's not the bite you should be worrying about. but gtp teeth can grow to about say 1/2 or so..long but not too long..it will either scratch or give you a nice hole in your skin but nothing serious. soap, water and a bandaid works fine on snake bites. Just remember the rule of thumb when it comes to wounds..keep em dry n clean.

Hahaha
A thread I seem to know alot about. I have taken a few Chondro bites over the years from everything from babies just one week out of the egg (yes it did bleed) to one that is 6 feet long. The bites do hurt Im not going to lie to you. I used to keep Retics, Burms and Boa's for years and I have been bit by all of them and yes you expect it to hurt because of their size but now think this small little animal is going to bite harder than those and yes twice as fast. The only one that could come close to the speed of a Chondro is a Retic. It will bleed and hurt but you wont need any special care other than cleaning it. It took me over two years of owning one to first get bit though. I think the only reason I have been bit so many times is because I have owned over 30 adult Chondro's over the years. All of them became tame except this one. He tricks me into thinking he is tame all the time then tries to bite me for no reason. Just buy a captive born one from a trustworthy person and not a cheap one because its cheap.
Here is Tyson he loves to take cheap shots.

Do your homework. If you're not an experienced snake keeper you probly shouldn't. They are display cause they bite a little and stress fairly esay. I think that'd be OK if you kept gentle and wasn't moving alot and putting stress on the animal. I took a hit from a 5 ft one, you saw the teeth on one of those things.
