Thanks Julius this little guy is great!!! We could not be more pleased. Well he has settled in really well and had his first meal monday night. (no problem at all) Anyways just thought I would post some pics of him & his new home.
Overview of the enclosure.
So far this seams to be his favorite place to hang out.
I love this pic.
Ok the temps are 89-90 under the hide box & water dish. 83-85 on the cool side and in the top where he likes to hang is 80-81. The Humidity is hanging around 80%. This sound right?
I am new to Amazons so any changes that anyone thinks should be made please let us know. Before I end this post we would also like to give a BIG thanks to Morti & Morticia for picking this guy up and dropping him off in St. Louis for us.

Glad ya like him. Has he bitten anyone? LOL...I got em all kinda used to being handled and most of them won't bite at all....now all of a sudden everyone is dissapointed cause they won't bite. But...everytime I say they won't...they decide to nip....otherwise, I can't get them to.
Temps are a little warm. Remember...even though they come from tropical South America...they spend most of their time in the trees where it is cooler and breezy. They prefer temp ranges of 78-83. They won't normaly perch on single straight perches like emeralds do...they look for places where they can spread out a little....that's why he is staying on the silk plant. If you tie wrap a small piece of cork bark onto that dowel rod he might perch on it. He seems to be enjoying the upright wood thing with the holes in it. Please remember to keep him misted too...they will soak and occasionally drink from a water bowl but more often will lick water droplets from their coils or off the leaf of a plant. Does he go in the hide box? I gave up on them...None of mine would ever use them...one of the babies would work his way under the waterbowl though...I can't remember which one it was or if I still have him though. I've never seen another amazon do this. gravid females will hide and rarely climb while gravid.....anyway...looks good glad you guys are enjoying him.....just please cool him down just a little.

I have one that bites!
If anyone is dissapointed that theirs won't bite, then they can swing by my house and they can hold the 'Lil B**ch' ! I'm sure you'll get tired of it well before she will!
But if you have one that won't bite, it's a good thing!
I had the pleasure of holding some of the babies a few weekends ago and none of them are nippy at all! All of them were little sweeties while holding!

Julius
Thanks for the input will get those temps down ASAP. Well right now. He hasn't bitten anyone yet but he did have a go at my nose. Them little boogers have an impressive strike range.

We went and saw the movie Ice Age last night. Great little movie, very funny. Anyways, the reason for this post is that there was a Sabertooth tiger in it named Deago. The Sabertooth tigers have a reputation of being mean and nasty but this one was very kind & gentle..... the same goes for our little Amazon so his name will be DEAGO!!!!
