What Kind of Spider is This?
I saw it on my kitchen floor and from afar, it looked like a Black Widow. So, I caught it in a container and snapped some pics.
Tried googling it but came up with nothing. I found a picture of one that someone found but they too, did not know what it was.

Re: What Kind of Spider is This?
I'm no expert, but I'd gather it is some kind of garden spider?

Re: What Kind of Spider is This?
Very nice looking find... It looks like it is related to the Latros(widows).
Google is a great tool isn't it?

Re: What Kind of Spider is This?
I second that...looks interesting! I'm no expert, but have kept tarantulas, black widows and golden huntsman spiders before, outa curiosity! (also scorpions) My golden huntsman also had babies (hundreds!) twice, lol.... that's just what I needed!

Re: What Kind of Spider is This?
We find those guys all over the place in our snake building... here I am trying to harmlessly clean out a rack and I have to pull out a little brown spider on my hand...
I'm OK working with the spiders that stay in their critter keepers and deli cups, but when they surprise me like that its a different story :P

I hear ya....I used to really hate the solpugids (aka sun spiders, not true spiders) we had in So Calif desert...one bit my leg one nite when I was sleeping, and didn't fare so well when he came back for seconds the next nite! Ish! fast, ugly & very rude...
