T selection help
Im looking for a big impressive beautiful species for a program animal. Could you suggest a species that fits that discription and has a reputation to or known to tolerate handling.
Thanks

Re: T selection help
I have used rose-hairs for demonstrations before. they are very inexpensive and typically super chill

Re: T selection help
I would say a G. pulchripes or a B. smithi... I love my big girls....
Here is Chi...

I've had her since the size of a quarter. She is now about 4 1/2 inches and will get about 8 inches. They usually stay pretty docile.
And an unnamed girl that I just got...
I can help you when you decide what to get.

Re: T selection help
B. smithis aren't that cheap because you cannot import them. They are cites protected. So all that you see are CB. They are pretty slow growers so they are worth a lot more, not only that, they are very nice to look at.
My girl wasn't that expensive. I know somone that really hooked me up.
It's also good to know how to ventrally sex them. She wasn't selling them as sexed Ts.
She should be getting more soon, I could let you know.

Re: T selection help
you want to hold it deliberately i have to admit that blue cobalts are pretty but they are sooo mean. i failed miserably with lily long legs that i got from reptscue. i had to give her to a kid that loves spiders. i would shake so bad when i opened her cage to feed her. wierd thing is i really cared a lot about her, but i just couldn't get near her. make sure you get the spider from reptscue, she loves her spiders like i do my snakes.

The B. smithis are really nice... they do tend to flick a lot when younger, and a little when they don't want to be disturbed when older. As long as you're not sensitive to the hairs you'll be fine.
Now which are you meaning for a Fire leg?? B. boehmei or B. emilia?? I don't like common names because of this. You never know which someone is talking about. Both tend to be more of a hair flicker than the smithi. All in all... they are all beautiful.
