Nhandu chromatus
Nhandu chromatus - White Striped Bird Eater
Does anyone own any of these beauties?
I'm interested in learning more about them; the information I've found has been very vague. Thanks in advance!

Re: Nhandu chromatus
Wow that's a cool spider! I'd be interested in more info too... chiefly attitude and if it's a good beginner spider. My girlfriend wants one, but is looking at rose hairs, red knees, etc. I'd like her to get something a bit more exotic and cooler.

Re: Nhandu chromatus
There are a few videos on YouTube of some owners handling theirs.
Though they're supposedly aggressive they're not prone to biting.
They also get about 8", so I've read.
That's some of the information I've gotten, HA.

Re: Nhandu chromatus
I have a young male that is probably the most defensive T out of my collection. He will try to get out of his cage to come at me.
Here are some pictures...

That one looks like a White Knee to me.. I could be wrong?
Do you have any information on their care that you could share?

.
On a trip in Suriname we found big bird spiders similar to that, if they couldn't get away into a crack or hole right away they'd face us down, bouncing on their legs as if on a trampoline, ready to jump right in our face! I suppose..
.
The locals feared them. Scared me silly too..

Not an encouraging thought for a soon to be 8" spider. I'm thinking I'll wait to see how tame yours becomes.
