Picked up this girl the other day. Ephebopus murinus, or the French Guyana Skeleton Tarantula. They are somewhat of an enigma of the tarantula world: they are a new world species, but look more like an asiatic species. They have features of an arboreal, but are terrestrial burrowers. Also, their urticating hairs are not on the abdomen like all other genus of new world tarantulas, they are on the pedipalps, and are released by rubbing the pedipalps on their chelicerae.
They are rather defensive, not generally a species to be handled. Get to just over 4 inches or so. They love to dig and web, but aren't overly shy. This one loves to sit right in the open.
Rav

Wow now that is a cool looking T. I am thinking about getting into the world of Ts soon. Gotta get all my snakes stuff good to go though. There is still Boaphiles that need to be paid for and stuff, but after that, how about a T for me

nice looking bug rav. Maybe something came over on a shipment of cargo and went through some changes here or crossed maybe? who knows....still...very cool bug
Ummm JonnyB...you might want to correct some spelling and grammar in your sig LOL...otherwise you may be proving your own point. hehehe
<TABLE BORDER=0 ALIGN=CENTER WIDTH=85%><TR><TD><font class="pn-sub">Quote:</font><HR></TD></TR><TR><TD><FONT class="pn-sub"><BLOCKQUOTE> if it wasn'f for idoits the population of this world would be considerable less...
</BLOCKQUOTE></FONT></TD></TR><TR><TD><HR></TD></TR></TABLE>
we will forget the typo of wasn't since it should be "weren't" anyway. There should be a comma after idiots and considerable should be considerably....oops I missed one. You also spelled idiots wrong LOL
