Well, those of you who know me, know that I am terrified of spiders. awhile back, Overtech posted pics of his 2 new spiders. My youngest son has wanted one for several yrs, and my answer was always "Not in MY house!".....lol. Anyway, I kept looking at the pic that Dave posted of his pink toe, it was so pretty, and didn't totally creep me out like most of the others. So I told my son, if we ran across a pink toe, we would get one, but HE has to do all the touching, I can't do that.....lol. (I haven't ever seen a pink toe anywhere around here, so thought I was safe). Well, lo and behold, what did I run across at the pet store tonight? You got it, a small pink toe. So, because I try to keep my word when I give it, we brought it home.
It is in a tiny little plastic box. Well, about 6x4x6 inches. So tomorrow, we will set about making her(I believe), a nice home in a bigger aquarium. I will say in her defense, she is really pretty, and I don't get the creepies when I look at her. I have been watching her since we brought her home and it is fascinating. But, I have NO desire to touch her.....lol. I know a lot of you guys keep T's, and I read a couple of GOOD caresheets, but any advice will be appreciated. Thanks, and wish me luck. If she escapes, you will be reading my untimely death in the paper.

Well i think thats great you got a T finally.. good for you. theres lots of places on the comp that you can find some good care sheets on pink toes or you can get a good book on Ts that has a lot of info like, The Guide to Owning a Tarantula by TFH or The Tarantula Keepers Guide by barrons its one of the best books out there on Ts.. you can set her up in a n9ice aquarium use some fake vines and some bark prop that against one side as these are tree dwellers, use peatmoss mix for bedding few inches deep and a small water dish but mist the cage often they need high humidity..and if ya need any help im here for ya... and yes after awhile even though you dont want to hold one i think you will be hooked and want more... hehehehehehehehehehehehe!!!!!!! just make sure the T dont get cold.. have fun.... Thanks, BWW! I did find a pretty good care sheet, but I'm sure as a "newbie" I will have questions. Thanks for the advice and the offer of future help! As for the holding?? I don't know about all that .
