That'd be a sweet specimen for my entomology collection I'm making for a class.
But besides that, big bugs are awesome to handle, too. :P

Yeah, they're really cool. At first, I was really wondering why anyone would want one as a pet.. then i took them out and was like.. oh, yeah, they're kinda freaky and interesting!! haha
aparently they're native to southern parts of the US? I'd never seen anything like it until these.

Well, there's grasshoppers big and small, depending on the species and region, but yeah, biggun's similar to that can be found further south.  Biggest one I think I've ever found was 3.5-4 inches.
I used to keep and breed grasshoppers, black field crickets and praying mantids when I was little. :P
