T shows no interest in the dubia
I gave my Rose Hair a juvenile dubia and it reacted to the movement but didn't have a clue on what to do to it. I'm trying to raise a colony of dubia for the T and a couple lizards I have, but if they won't eat them.

Re: T shows no interest in the dubia
Mine has never cared if I'm in the room or not. If he is hungry, crickets are grabbed. He's in a large size critter keeper. I use repti-bark, log hide, and water bowl with water crystals.

Re: T shows no interest in the dubia
I don't think I will ever be able to feed my Ts roaches...
this is where I turn majorly "girlie" and say "EWW"... I know they are healthier for them, but I still can't bring myself to do it. Plus they are illegal to ship into FL.

Re: T shows no interest in the dubia
Yep Florida is the one location where they might survive outside their enclosures.

Use plain old water with rocks assuring that the spider won't drown. Spiders don't use crystals, making them useless. How ever rose's and other tarantulas don't really need water bowls. But I think that its still important if humidity drops too low or it fasts for a while. [When fasting they are not getting moisture from cricket bodies]

Re: T shows no interest in the dubia
I'm not concerned about the spider drowning, the bowl is very small. Crickets/roaches might drown which is why I've always used crystals. It was my understanding that was what we tarantula people used. Has anyone used bed-a-beast for tarantulas? I'm reading that humidity is supposed to be high. He has molted twice with no regard to humidity.

Re: T shows no interest in the dubia
Roses are from Chile and Chile contains some of the driest regions on earth. So Roses are very forgiving as far as humidity goes. No, tarantula people don't use crystals. Join arachnoboards, I'm Boa Constrictor there. I use rocks in my T dishes so crickets won't drown too. It works.
