A giant tailless whip scorpion... or amblypygid. Just so freaky looking I had to have one. They look completely out of this world; even a little more so than most other arachnids.

Scorpions in general, or whip scorpions - they are very different ranges of species? Emperor scorpions live about 5-8 years or so. Flat Rock scorpions live around 12 years. These whip scorpions are known to be particularily long lived at around 15 years or so. Vinegaroons and other whip scorpions are usually listed as around 10 years. Each species is a little different, some are more hardy than others.

Hideous. I prefer big and fluffy tarantulas. I wont keep a hairless beast.

Sorry Rav but that thing looks more like a parasite than a scorpian. Not something I wold want to have but if you are looking for something out of the norm... that'll be it for sure.

I have given up on hairless spiders. Ever since i owned a trap door spider that bit off all of its legs. Yes, every single one.
I dont mind scorpions, but True spiders and those things give me the creeps. They are interesting though. Its a shame they live for such a short time.
I hear that they are voracious predators. Making short work of things many times their size.
