What is sharing my garden?
I can't figure this out. I thought at first glance it was a wold spider because they seem to come in a variety of shapes but I don't think so. Then I thought brown recluse but it is way too fat so I grab my camera for the closest shots possible (sorry major macro zoom on these it is in my no go garden). What is this? After looking at the pictures I notice we have tons of these all over the place but I think they are a bunch of babies with the same markings. It looks like some sort of orb weaver but it does not behave like an orb weaver and the web looks nothing like one.

It looks very much like an orb weaver. Maybe it's a juvi without it's adult colors yet.

I have those here too! They build webs across the sidewalks and then early in the mornings while they are wet with dew (but before it is light) I walk into the webs! EEWWW!
.
But the spiders seem harmless and don't over-react to me screwing up a whole night's work!
.
I don't know exactly what they are.
.
Gus.

I'm going to have to research this. I usually only see the usual Argiope around here and they are typically one season spiders and most are dying off around this time. If these are the same ones that I've been seeing they are much slower growers the the argiope that I'm used to.

Awww, I always feel so bad when I mess up a web. I will garden around them as much as I can without disturbing them and have let plants totally go to crap before disturbing a web. I despise walking through them though even though they do love to put the web right across the drive, between cars.

This is a crab spider from the Thomisidae family - Coriarachne sp.
Maybe a veriscolor, but I'm not positive on that without knowing the size and whether or not it's a juvie.
Neat critters!

Interesting. I found one of those white crab spiders on a Zinnia this summer.
This spider here is probably a littler smaller then a dime. Not very large but not very small either.
