My Rose hair
I just picked up a rose hair at a show last weekend... She came with a 5gal steup with peatmoss (I believe) and some soil mix that she was in... Since getting her home she has only come off the sides of the tank to catch crickets.... Is there a reason she would be staing only on the sides?...

The tank might be too wet. Mine are kept on mostly dry vermiculite and sphagnum moss. You need to keep the humidity low, but always have a water dish with fresh water at all times.

My rose hair does the same thing when it's too moist. I was told that they are from desert climate and if the cage is too moist they think it's the rain season and their going to get flooded out. D you have any pics?

heh my avic never got over the idea of completely hating the substrate no matter what I tried, now I have none in with it. Of course maintaining humidity is not an issue for me and I know in colder climates the substrate helps with that
