I met a new friend!

My girlfriend called me while I was at work, freaking out about "the biggest spider" she's ever seen. When she described it to me, I told her to leave it alone and I'll take a look at it when I get home. I can't even bring myself to relocate it...it's kinda cute! Say hello to Frank!









I actually have a small fear of spiders, but garden spiders are just too fascinating to fear! I hope he sticks around for a while so I can see how big he gets!

scaaaaary, i always relocate those pesky critters, so they wont get in my hair.

we dont have them around here, but think its called a banana spider.. not sure of the actual Latin name though... When you all take pics of these spiders, put a ruler up next to it so we can get an idea of how large it it... in this picture that thing looks to be 3" big.. but its not...

Yea...I'd put something next to it for scale, but like I said...I'm not a huge fan of spiders. The only reason I got those close ups was because my camera has a zoom button! I like watching it, but I'm not snuggling up to it!

I feel you Brandon. As soon as they start to crawl, I get the heebie-jeebies or whatever. I get chills running all over. Anyways really pretty spider, I like it much better on the computer screen than in real life!
