Garden is infested with Tarantulas!
.. but that's OK! I was moving some pots and boards around and found this pretty girl..
.

.
.. she was a little scared.. but she calmed down and I put her in a stack of old pots that I don't move much (and is full of BUGS).
.

.
Have a nice Sunday!

Brave, brave man. I'm way too much a wimp to even look at them that close. I'll stick to my garden spiders.

I'm not a spider-guy but I believe that is Aphonopelma anax, or a Texas tan Tarantula (and not a large one). They pack a bite somewhat like one of the lesser-venemous scorpions, or a wasp, it hurts, but not anything serious. I was bitten by one of these years ago and the pysical pain of the big fangs going in was the worst part.. later a plug of dead skin fell out.. (yea, ugly)..
.
But that was my fault for not being patient with the spider.. I love these things and wouldn't purposely harm one..
