My first capture Pics.
Here are the pics of my capture. These are zoomed pics. After 10 minutes of search in a northern remote desert, (60 KM before Iraq border), 1/2 KM away from the main road, I caught this bugger hiding under a sheet of wood. It's 1.5" to 2" in size (including tail), capture time is 16:15 local time, an hour earlier then the sunset.
According to my experience (which is of less than a month), it's Androctonus Crassicauda (Black Scorpion).

Great capture!
It's my understanding that the larger the claws the less potent the venom, inversly the smaller the claws the more potent the venom. How potent is this scorpion's venom?

@John White: I disagree with you John, this is one of the most dangerous species in scorpions. The one i have captured is amature, even if it's an adult, this specie have thin claws.
Correct me if i am wrong.

and not to forget the Emperor Scorpion, who have the most largest claws, but have very mild venom. According to my knowledge, the bigger/wider the tail, the more powerful vemom.
Again i want to include that i have only a month experience, please forgive and correct if i am mistaken.

No apology necessary, I've done the same thing myself.
Out of curiosity, what are the symptoms if one gets stung by A. Crassicauda?
Is there an antivenin (anti-venom) for this species?
Thanks,
John

Well, i have no info on the venom, but you are most welcome to visit Kuwait and i can provide you transport and company in hunting them, but not to forget that we have Horned Vipers too.
I am already planning to mail my first capture to Norway to one i know before i came to RTB, so if i capture some more, will mail them to one of you can then you can distribute to the members who have interest. (That way i have to pay once for the postage)

yesterday the bugger tried to escape, he almost did, but with the help of my friend, i got him. Actually i am keeping him at my friend's house, can't keep at home due to a kid (don't want to take risk). Where as my friend is a bechelour and he's very healthy (Fat) . am sure if he sting him, he would not notice.
But he sure scared us for a while. BTW i noticed that he was very aggresive yesterday, 5 days of captivity, and i never saw his behaviour like yesterday. He dug 2 extra holes next to the stone too.
"A great escape".
