My little brother found this beauty in my parents backyard and ended up bringing her? to my house..
She is pretty big..and looks like a jumping spider of somesort...(i have no clue though)
Anyway....we have had her for awhile now and she has been eating the crickets I buy for my young centipedes..lol
I plan on letting her free, but shes doing so good right now.... and Im having a blast observing her...(that sounds so horrible)

I think she had been in a fight perhaps...as she looked a bit banged up when we looked at her closely,(these pics were taken then...and she has since healed completely and seems to be doing good though)

these pictures are horrible, but hopefully someone here can Id her..(which i know can be difficult)
She was found in a very small town in between napa and vallejo(napa co.) california..
Her web is very thick..and tunnel like, and her eyes seem to be in a line, going around her head, rather than rows....(???..I cant see very good..lmao)

I think ill try and get some more pics of her,if anyone is interested....the more i look at these pictures...the worse they look...hehhh

well, thanks in advance to anybody who looks and tries to identify her..(only assuming female due to her beefiness)

thanks guys/gals

There are dozens of species of jumping spider, some very similar in appearance... looks to me like it could be some species of Eris. Maybe a militarus? Hard to tell without actually seeing the spider in person, photographs so infrquently do proper justice... go to your local book store and peruse some of the field guides. Ones with extraordinairy photography like Audubon's may be a good place to start.
