Sally pic
Found a Jefferson Salamander (Ambystoma jeffersonianum) this past weekend and a couple wood turtles. Hopefully, we'll get some warm weather soon so the majority of the snakes will start moving.

John are those different from our Blue Spotted Salamanders? Or is that just another name for them?
Of course Nice pic.

Thanks all for the kind words.
Ed,
Jefferson salamanders (Ambystoma jeffersonianum) and blue-spotted salamanders (Ambystoma laterale) are different species but closely related and even have a hybird zone which makes up most of their range in the U.S. Here in Virginia we're at the southern most range of the Jefferson salamander and thus only pure Jefferson salamanders have be recorded for the state.
