well my friend and I were out herping yesterday for a good 4 hours. We came to this huge lake and we found a TON of bullfrogs. We catch over 20 easilly but let a lot of them back. I have around 10 little ones and one HUGE one. We are going back monday to try and catch a male Bullfrog if anyone can tell me this one is DEFIANTELY a female. Here are the pics
Ill get more later, tell me what you think of them

I always thought the tympanum on a female was susposed to be about the same size as their eye.
Males are about 2 to 3 times that size.
The one in the top pic looks like it could be a female, but I think its more likely a male.

With several species of adult Rana (including bullfrogs, green frogs, bronze frogs, etc.) the sex can be determined by the size of the tympanum in relation to the size of the eye. If the tympanum (eardrum) is larger than the eye the frog is a male.

Do Not keep Bullfrogs of different sizes int he same enclosure or you will have one fat one.
