I have pacific tree frogs. When I went to clean the tank today I realized there were frog eggs all over the tank. I took them out and put them into a cup of water. I don't know how to hatch them. What should I do?

kogoz its just the title. It's in the frogs and toads section so obviously it has something to do with frogs or toads. Its up to you if you want to open the post and read it. Thanks trinity wolf for the link.

We had Pacific tree frogs lay tons of eggs in our pond a number of weeks ago. Now we've got tons of tadpols. I'd just set up an aquarium, with an under gravel filter (like you would for fish) and let 'em do their thing. I don't even think you'd need a heater, or any other equipment. I believe the hatchlings probably feed on green algae and other micro-fauna...so the trick will be finding a source for that from a friends pond, a nearby stream or water course (that isn't too polluted), someones aquarium that needs a cleaning, etc.

I had a friend once that fed them fish food flakes. He said they grew up into frogs fine. Is this a healthy food to give them? Or should I get algae from the nearby creek?

Actually yes, fish food would probably work fine, especially those that have an algae component. Two that I have are: Omega One "Veggie Flakes", which despite it's name is fish based, but has spirulina in it...and, Aquatrol "Spirulina 20" which is labeled as containing 20% spirulina algae. Get two or three types and alternate them and I think that would work fine.

Most North American frog eggs hatch into tadpoles within a few dayss of being laid. And raising a tadpole is just like raising a fish. Feed it everyday the varied fish flakes you can buy at the store and in a few months you will have a whole lots of little froglets hopping around.
Good Luck
