The great frog habitat trek

So I'm getting all this interesting stuff together to make some frog terrariums and I'm really looking forward to completing the terraria. The leca for the bottom layer is even now winging its way toward Texas.
So, I decide to look at frog classifieds. Just looking, I promise myself.
I am overwhelmed by the many gorgeous frogs but hold fast.....until.......

I couldn't help myself, I just had to get these mossy froglets I saw.

So I look up their care, and are any of these little terraria I'm putting together adequate? Nooooo, of course not, that would be too easy. Mossy frogs need a lot of water in their habitat, more than the small pools I am putting in the terraria.

I find the perfect habitat by looking at classifieds. It looks to be 20-25 gallons, with a stand, and a background of ledges and stuff made of plastic but looking like rock; one fills it 1/3 of water and it has a pump and filter to circulate the water.

It is a trek to the other side of town where this couple has had it sitting in their garage. The problem is, Mapquest, which I love ordinarily, did not give the proper directions. There are vast wastelands of oilfield equipment in the area and I am cruising along looking at humongous pipelines and stuff. I get hopelessly lost and stop at a gas station for directions; gas stations are not like they used to be and everyone is clueless.
I finally call the people, get directions, get there, and get my beautiful habitat in the car.

I am currently cleaning it and will take pix when it is up and running. The froggies will be here in a week or so, I want to make sure their home is perfect first.

This weekend I definitely spent more time on the critters than I spent on me....

Re: The great frog habitat trek

But....... Isn't time spent on critters, technically time spent on you?

And awesome on the mossy frogs!!! I love those little things, that's who I'm setting up my next terrarium(with the waterfall) for.

Great pickup!

Re: The great frog habitat trek

You are right(as usual), when I'm taking care of families, or kids, or critters I'm happy so it IS time spent on me. (But the laundry is still not done yet lol).
I saw the manufacturer name on the bottom of the tank and found a picture, mine is used but it looks just like this one:

Keep it down, my wife has been wanting some Vietnamese Mossy Frogs ever since I showed her some pics of the last year.
I think you'll enjoy them.
