WHat does it mean when your red eyed tree frog turns dark green?
Is this something to be concerned about? I've never read anything about it anywhere in caresheets. . . ?

Someone else may have some more insight on red-eyes specifically, but I keep green trees and white's trees, and they fluctuate colors depending on mood, activity level, time of day, moisture levels... I would just mist him down and not worry about it, its probably just a normal color change.

Hey,

Red-eyes change color all the time, just make sure the frog(s) stay healthy and active. The frog (s) should be light green in the day and get darker at night. I would suggest a red bulb to watch them during the night. I have one for my waxy monkey tree frogs and it does wonders. You can see them, but they can't see you.

Derek

I misted him down with moisturizer (ESU Rainforest spray) as an initial reaction to him turning dark and he's looking better already I assumed he was drying out and I guess thats what it was. I live in Alaska (currently) and trying to keep all my humditity levels right is a war I constantly wage. Its INSANELY dry up here because the air outside is usually too cold to hold ANY moisture. ( FYI Thats why it only snows in the fall and the spring up here ) Of course inside my house its not SO bad because I have almost 300 gallons of aquaria, an amphibious water monitor enclosure, and I dont how many water bowls LOL I guess it was just a combination of moisture and temp. It was in the days shortly following a cage change (10 gallon to a 29 gallon) and he seems fine now. Red eyes are my first frogs .I know I know bad choice for a first. But I read up on them and I thought I could handle it. I've had my Fire bellys for awhile but in retrospect they're almost like seamonkeys. hehe just add water (j/k) Sadly I lost my other two within days of aquring them ( sadly I believe they were imports ) and I was worried I was going to lose this one to. After setting up my 29 gallon enclosure and checking my temps/humidity I bought one and he seemed to be doing fine. I asked the local store to order some more and I picked them up 1 or 2 days after they came in and they didn't look so good. They just keeled over while the orignal frog stayed fat and happy. So when he started to look a lil sickly I was quick to be worried I would lose him to but he seems to be doing fine now.
