As long as you don't pick one up in your yeard, if you live in their home range, you'll be fine!
The captive bred and even the wild caughts, not having access to their natural food sources, and their food sources not having access to their food sources, the toxins emitted on their skin don't exist.
In other words, harmless.

hey
to derek benson,
I haven't started kepping dart frogs...yet
Im doing a lot of research before i go out to get one.
Although the set up i was looking at wasn't too bad the enclosure cleaned itself through a miniture stream sort of way (sorry to all the experts who are frowning at that discription) the only thing i needed to do was clean the inside and outside glass...but...i would have to grown my own food and i dont think the idea of thousands of minature waxworms, fruitworms etc would not please the family, as well as it been very time consuming.
so i think i'll maybe try and look further into keeping them as i get older
later Jowex
p.s. if you do start keeping dart frogs let me know how you go on with them cheers
