Kuman our pacman has me very worried, shes around 7months old, in a10 gal tank w/2-3" bed a beast and shallow bowl for soaking, and temp in the mid 80s. The things that worry me is she normally eats a mouse every week to week&1/2 and its been almost 4weeks now, also with in this four weeks severl other odd things like she was sitting in her bowl and stayed there for a few days normally not big deal but one morning I walked in to check on her and she was upside down at first I thought she was dead, but no she was alive just upside down. So I took her out of the water and set her on the bed a beast. Normally she dig down in, but no she sat on top for three days, where she was getting very dry, even with me misting her a couple times a day so I sat her back in her bowl. The water in the bowl over night seemed to have a slime, so I took her back out and noticed it was it really slime she seemed to be shedding, and I cant find anything that says anything about pac-man frogs shedding so I'm guessing that this is not a good thing. Plus she is losing wieght about a month ago she was 5" wide 4" long and now maybe 3 1/2 x 3. I hope some one can help, please, and thank you.

Not sure about what could be wrong but they definately do shed if that's any consolation. Also I tend to find my amphibians go off their food whilst shedding, but they do eat the shed. Sorry I can't be more help

Ok might have found the problem, the temp may be too high if its in the 80's apparently they like it about 80-82. This link explains what happens if your frog is too hot or too cold and it sound like the same symptoms if you look under the "Estivation" section Pacman Frogs

Stay on your own account women!!! Will the real boacephus please stand up!!

Yeah that is what I had guessed motor, we wanted to get some other opinions though. Since the summer is coming along it has been getting pretty warm in the reptile room. Guess we should monitor the temps alittle better before the other herps decide it's to hot for them.
