Very cool... that particular species doesn't have any federal status as of yet, but they are protected in some states where they range. They inhabit the twilight zone of caves, so I would surmise that they should be kept at a pretty constant temperature - there isn't alot of variation down inside of a cave. Sometimes they can be found outside thc caves, under bark and logs... in spring-fed moist areas. A nice terrarium setup that stays pretty humid, plantlife shouldn't make a huge difference because in the twilight area of the caves there are no plants.
I've wanted to do some caving here in Texas, just to get pictures of some of the fascinating species of cave salamanders (They're all protected).
