I believe it is up for debate. Mealworms have a higher protein:fat ratio, and as such, many find them superiour. Most find sweetworms and waxworms to have to high of a fat content to be an adequate staple , for a healthy diet. On the other hand, the high levels of chitin in mealworms can make the digestibility of the protein difficult. Mealworms are easier to store for longer periods of time than waxworms (mid50's to 60F), but sweetworms can be stored at 40-45F for extended periods w/out any apparent ill effects.
Ultimately, its up to the keeper and what it is exactly they want for the animal in question. Personally? I find that a slightly varied diet from time to time is quite possibly the optimum choice. Silkworms may be your best bet, though.
