I came across this in quite a few of my reading resources even. One of them a NAt'l Iguana Association's piece of literature. If you are sick with something like the flu..do NOT go near your Iggy ! You may very well pass on the germ which your body is fighting and could possibly kill your Iggy should he/she contract it. This includes preparing it's feed also. Just to be safe..don't even breathe on your beloved pet I actually had a conversation with someone recently and they had lost a few of their iggy's and couldn't figure out why they had died. Come to find out the person had the fluaround the time the Iggy's died and they continued to be around the Iggy's as well as the person taking care of them too. From what I understand in my reading in basic is ..the iguana's don't have the correct immunities to fight off what us humans can that inflicts us in the form of the flu. If exposed to such "germs", it has the major potential to kill the Iguanas Just to be on the safe side..have someone else care for the Iggy should you become ill with such a "germ"
