R.I.P. Charly
Of all the places to post this is one that I wish I would never have to post. My Columbian Red Tail of over 6 months, Charly passed away this weekend from unknown reasons.
She has never missed a feeding, always had a really good feeding response. Over the past month she had been getting skinny. She didn’t loose any weight; in fact she gained about 2g.
When the wife took her to the vet on Monday the 1st he said she had a vitamin deficiency, her mouth was really white. The vet said that because of this he feels that’s why her skin was really loose. He gave her a shot of B complex and enzymes as well as sending some home to inject in her next rat.
She was fed that day no issues at all, strike, constrict, nose dive. No problems at all. We went out of town Wednesday night and when we got home early Saturday morning, she had died.
In her cage was what was left of a regurged rat.
I don’t know what happened, doubt I ever will. What I do know is, Charly, you will be missed.
