As i had said before, i wasn't dismissing the need for P/K food items. Just that in this particular instance the individual had stated that he was feeding a neonatal rodent, which led me to believe that the poster who was defending P/K was only doing so out of some strange dogmatic principle, rather than being dictated by his own logic. Had he been concerned about parasites he should've mentioned F/T [edit:my apologies, he did mention this, but i believe out of habit rather than for medical purposes. Or else why all the hype about bite wounds] and not simply defended his position as it pertains to live food , sense i'm sure you'll agree that neither P/K or F/K significantly diminishes any likelyhood that you'll transmit parasites.
As far as the conditioning of a snake to live food goes? I've taken snakes that were fed live their entire lives and switched them. Also, it shall be noted, that neonatal snakes can at times be difficult to feed P/K food items and may need to be "weened" unto dead food. That's not to say that individuals don't vary, they in fact vary greatly, as i will attest to. But let's not succumb to any fallacies about this individual , or his/her snake. I was merely making an observation that the poster was being pretentious, and quite arrogant in morality. Holier-then-thou if you will, without actually thinking about the repercussions of his/her post.
Also, it was a joke. But i know how folks are about their sacred cows. Or in this case, rats.
Entropy,
Alex
