i know nothing of the matter, but the only variable i can think of is the radon.
radioactive material definately affects animals. i dont know about radon but i read on nuclear blast tests being done on this island that basically killed everything off. definately something id consider.
sucks about losing your animals, id be devistated. hope no one else dies, good look detecting the problem.
