Yes, it *can* happen. But if you are responsible about it, this will not happen. We have to remember though, there are way more people killed by horses, and dogs every year than snakes. Keeping large snakes is not dangerous if it is done right. For instance, the girl in the story that was killed. Their Python escaped from it's cage, well, a secure cage is not a luxury. It's part of owning a reptile. And I will bet my next paycheck that there is a lot more to this story than what the news says. They make it sound like the girl was home alone, the snake broke out of it's cage and made a b-line for the child with the sole intent of killing her while she was minding her own business. I am positive that is not exactly the way it happened. She might have been holding the snake, and couldn't control it a snake that size can be very strong and if it is hanging on a "tree" that kept moving around it's natural instinct is to hold on tighter
