I was thinking aspen because it is somewhat dense and doesn't collapse when tunnels are formed underneath. My kingsnake and other colubrids love the stuff. But, from what Ravnos says about dryness, aspen does seem pretty dry. So, I don't know if aspen is a good choice for an eastern hognose. He's more experienced with hognoses than I am. May I suggest a bedding of cedar?
