basilisks

Hi!
I'm brand new to this website and I am in desperate need of help. I have rescued two female basilisks and don't know much about them and am having a hard time finding info. I have no idea how old they are, but they are about one and a half to two feet long, including tails. One is chunkier than the other, but has almost no toes (old wounds). This does not seem to be a problem, though. I have them in a 55 gallon tank with plenty of plants to climb and hide under, a vine to climb on, and a pool to drink from and swim in (kitty litter box). I have a 100 watt bulb, and a 60 watt heat coil, plus a 75 watt infrared bulb and a 60 watt nighttime bulb on the tank. The 100 watt day bulb is the only thing I turn off at night. I am a high school teacher, the tank is in my classroom, and it gets cold at night and on weekends. I am feeding supermealworms and gutloaded, dusted crickets, which they eat well. They will not eat fruit or veggies of any sort, nor will they eat mice pinkies. They are gaining weight, have no longer got mouth rot, and the wounds on their noses from rubbing on screen sides of a too small tank are gone. They seem fine, very active, rather skittish, but alert. Am I doing things okay? What am I missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please E-mail me. Thanks
