I just got a Green Anaconda
I just got a Green Anaconda myself couple weeks ago. Supplier said it was CB, but one rarely knows for sure. Anyway, it is very calm (so far) and feeding OK. It is 47". It's supposed to be couple months old, not sure that jives with 47" today; must have been a big baby! It is in perfect shape and calm, so I'm inclined to believe its CB. Anyway, I think the key is, as you stated, is to handle it virtually every day and be careful. And avoid stupid mistakes, especially SFEs. Not real sure of its sex yet, hope its a male...When it gets big enough, I'll probably use an extra bedroom for it (have older kids now, but not much longer...room should be free in a year or two). A "truly" calm and "tame" one is quite an impressive charge. When bigger, I think I'll try feeding it store-bought chickens (like you and I buy) about half the time. Will be interesting to see if it will accept them. Good luck with yours, would be nice to trade updates once in a while. Try not to get eaten. Regards.
