My wife, Mrs. Mirabelasunshine, joined this afternoon. Each of the 23 babies is known by a letter, and she was handling 'W.' 'W' is a lovely little thing, kind of velvety charcoal-green with a deep peachy underlayer and coffee-brown saddles. For the post part, he/she has been reliable and calm. So she had him in her hand, and he s-l-o-w-l-y reached out, tongue flapping, to investigate her face, the way boas sometimes will -- and SLAMMED her across the end of her nose! She bled for more than an hour!
Meanwhile, most of the little ones are pretty cool, but 'F' and 'H' require some work. I've stopped counting the bites -- I just wear gloves. I've noticed they don't hiss for as long now, and they only tag me once or twice per visit, whereas on the weekend it was full-on combat for as long as I could stand trying to handle them.
More fun than a barrel of monkeys...
