T..The problem with these ones is easily defined. Someone was prolly in a hurry to "hibernate" these turtles in order to get 'em to breed after the hibernation for them. They are actually a breeding trio..1.2.0. Someone did NOT take the time to properly "establish" their health before attempting the hibernation of them at all They were NOT properly hydrated prior to attempting the hibernation.
As of now..I have ..
1 that is fully out of "hibernation", eyes fully opened and NOT swollen any longer.
1 that is halfway out of hibernation, eyes open but still swollen.
1 that only shows a hint of being out of hibernation , eyes NOt open and also still fully swollen shut.
ALL 3 of them are still being rehydrated, this will prolly take a few days time as they we're so dehydrated.
I do have someone, my niece, who has asked for them already now. She actually has been working with them even. We're attempting to promote a feed responce in them still even. I will have more turtles coming in as the weeks go on also. I have another member of RTb picking up a pair for me even this week from another source.
I have no problem shipping turtles anywhere in USA...BUt I wouldn't even consider shipping these ones anyway at this time due to the issue of the hibernation AND the cold weather now. The last thing I would want would be to have them sink into a hibernation during shipping due to the cold weather.
I would NOT ask for anything above the actual shipping costs of any rescues, unless I had paid $$ to obtain them myself. If a rescue was to have MAJOR medical costs such as meds...we could discuss such at that point. If you want turtles..What kind would you want???[addsig]
