There was a Harvard graduate who did something like that. She did some sort of a work-vacation in South Africa on a wildlife refuge. She became so engrossed in the plight of the wildcats there, she moved out there and started the largest wildcat sanctuary in South Africa. You can do work-retreats out there as well, though it's pretty expensive (you pay for the privilege of working there). I would love to do something like that, if only I didn't have my little anchors around my neck.....I mean.....my babies.
