It doesn't hurt to handle her right away for short periods of time. I wouldn't keep her out for hours though till she has time to check out her new digs and get comfortable. Ignore the strike mode thing...She may always appear to be that way. It's usually a bluff anyway...Just cup your hand and without hesitating cover her head with it and then pick her right up.
