Re: Rabbit Eaters?
I raise rabbits and rats for my Boas. I don't raise rats to be any larger than smalls. My Boas that are 3 1/2ft or larger are on rabbits from pinky size on up. Rabbits are a better food source for Boas (more protien/less fat). They're easier to keep as well - no tubs to clean. And they grow at a fast rate. A 3 week old bunny is as big or bigger than a 3 month old rat. Also, 50 lbs of rabbit food is cheaper than 25 lbs of rodent chow . Easier in every way.
If you're going to raise rabbits, something to know is - smaller breeds have smaller litters (5-9 babies), while I raise larger breeds (Californians, and Checkered Giants) and they produce up to 15 + babies at a time. A Pinky bunny is almost the same size as a med rat, so the longest that I have to raise them is 3-4 weeks for my 7 footer Boas.
I don't take pics of them eating though - its not my thing.
