I've only had my first BCI for a short while as well but I do know that you should definiately go with a breeder, I got mine from JimiSnakes and she is just awesome and so healthy. She even ate during a shed the other day. She was born at the end of June and she is not nippy in the least!
You could also check the classifieds on kingsnake.com they have some good snakes on there as well
