"rtb" is a hobby term that means red tail boas.
it is a term that was once used to describe the tail color of a few boas-REGUARDLESS OF LOCALE .
now-a-days it is a term to generate sales. it sounds more pleasing to the ear.

if you actually look- 99% of the animals called redtails dont even have the color red in their tail blotches.

colombians on the market are usually boa constrictor imperator.

the difference between bcc boas and bci boas- they are divided by altitude and a mountain chain (the Andes)- mexico, central american countries- down into northern colombia are bci.
east of the andes: central and southern colombia, peru, bolivia, brazil, guyana, surinam, venezuela, and trinidad are homes to bcc.

bci have more dorsal saddles or blotches (as low as 19- but usually 21+)
bcc have less (sometimes 21, but usually less than 19)

bci grow to a large size quickly (4-10 ft, usually between 5-9) and have iron stomachs
bcc's grow larger over a period of time (can reach lengths of 12+), more heavier bodied, but dont have the iron stomachs as the col bci do.

some col bci's may have red in their tails (i have plenty of those) but they usually dont come close to the more vivid reds as some of the bcc's are known for. some peruvian and brazilian bcc's have a nice red to their tails. guyanas usually have a deep violet or plum/ red to their tails, etc, etc...
