another way to look at it...
in humans, blue eyes are a recessive trait (like albino in boas), breed two people
one with blue eyes and one with brown and their kids will have brown eyes (assuming
the brown-eyed person wasn't carrying the blue-eye gene). This is a situation where
the offspring can be predicted with accuracy.
Now, breed two people (I know.. lol... but stay with me here) who are both tall,
now will all the kids be tall? Most likely since both parents are, but not always, meaning
the 'tall' gene does not act in a predictable manner but can show influence and be more
likely to happen. (same as pastel)
