The temps on the warm side need to be 88-92. It might help to have a temp gun, too, so you can spot check the temps, like on the floor where he basks. He does need the heat to digest properly. This could possibly be the issue. However, I wouldn't be surprised if he poops with the shed. Mine often leave me a shed skin with a nice pile of poop right in the middle of it.
