Bingo! The only way to make frozen feeder purchases make sense economically is to buy in enough bulk to get the ultimate per/rat price down to less than you'd pay locally.
As an emotional buffer (to soften the blow of the shipping) calculate the per item price of a large order, and it's still cheaper than going to the pet store and buying them. And the more you buy, the cheaper each rat will be.
