Chlorine or Sodium Bicarbonate?

I know the title is strange, but hey, you looked.

Question for anyone with serious responses please.

I have a 5'8" BCC that loves to take baths in the tub. I live in Southern Arizona and the chlorine content of the tap water is quite high. I know that baking soda can neutralize the chlorine, but I am concerned about putting it in the water without knowing for sure if it is bad for the snake. Can it be worse for them than chlorine?

No, I do not give my snakes tap water in their 'homes'. I give them spring water. No, I do not mist my snakes with tap water. I use spring water.
I don't even want to know how much it would cost to bath my snake in the tub with spring water 4-5 times a week. Sooo....?
