vetstudent82 - Hypomelanism and Albinism are two totally different genes. In Boas, Hypomelanism is a co-dominant trait while Albinism is a simple recessive trait. Hypos vary in degrees. Most people try to breed for super pink/orange colored hypos. Some hypos can appear
almost albinistic. But if you look at the animal, you will see that it does not have red colored eyes. While there may be red coloration in the eye, the eye itself is not red in a Hypo Boa. Albinism is the lack of melanin while Hypomelanism is reduced melanin. While you can find Hypo Boas with almost no black speckling you wouldn't be able to find any with red pupils - and therfore no melanin in the eyes like albinos (as far as I know!)
