I was not impressed with this guys care for his snakes at all. He called me saying he also did rescues but had more than he could handle, so I took agreed to take a 9 ft burm with a respitory problem and this little rough scale boa. The burm was housed inside one of those glass display cases with a red tail boa (on newspaper that looked filthy) and the boa was in with a Dumerils and a Ball python in a little 10 or 15 gallon tank.
Those were his only snakes. He had 5 and I took two. I think he's one of those people who starts rescues to get pets, not willing to take and care for sick animals.
So right now I have it in my snake room, which the whole room is set to 85. He's in a 1 1/2' x 1 1/2' x 3' tall cage which I filled about 1/2 way up with some carefresh cardboad type bedding and he's burrowed down in that, I haven't seen him come back up for the last couple days. but I figure he's setting himself up in his new space and I don't want to dig him out and torment him any further. I figured I'll catch him coming up for food one of these nights and try feeding him again.
Do you think I should try to check on him before that?
Thanks
Allison
