WOW that is so sad. That happens so often. I hope he gets a good home, soon. I would love to hear the progress of this story as well.
I agree on alot of the points made. Too bad petstores are in it just for the money. Personally if they would just carry products & not reptiles, that would be perfect. Then, the business would go to private breeders instead of mill breeders that they bought from & they wouldn't need to carry reptiles anymore.
What I would like to see is a health inspector go around visiting the petstores to enforce regulations on the care of reptiles. If they do not meet specific husbandry, then, they will be written up for non compliance. They would get 30 days to comply to regulation, or their license to import & or sell reptiles would be revoked & they would be fined.
It might make them think about their actions more, perhaps.
